1. Quick deployment and easy installation. Installing a Mesh node is very simple. After installing the device and connecting the antenna to the power supply, the network construction is completed, which greatly simplifies the installation. Users can increase the wireless network coverage and network capacity by adding nodes. In a wireless mesh network, not every mesh node needs a wired cable connection, which is the biggest difference between it and a wired network. The design goal of Mesh is to minimize the number of wired devices and wireless base stations, and reduce the number of fiber optic interfaces in the wireless network through a multi-hop network method, reducing the overall installation and cost of ownership.


2. Non-line-of-sight transmission (NLOS). Using wireless mesh technology can easily achieve NLOS configuration, which has a wide range of application prospects in outdoor and industrial markets. Users with direct line-of-sight with the transmitting station receive the wireless signal first, and then forward the received signal to other non-line-of-sight users. According to this method, the signal can automatically select the best path to continuously jump from one base station to another, and finally reach the target user without direct line-of-sight. In this way, the users who have no direct line-of-sight from the base station with direct line-of-sight provide wireless access functions. The characteristics of wireless mesh networks capable of non-line-of-sight transmission greatly expand the application field and coverage of wireless broadband.


3. Robustness. The usual way to achieve network robustness is to use multiple routers to transfer data. If a router fails, information is transmitted by other routers through alternate paths. In a single-hop network, if a node fails, the entire network is paralyzed. In the Mesh network structure, each node has one or several paths for transmitting data. If the nearest node fails or receives interference, the data packet will be automatically routed to the alternate path technology for transmission, and the operation of the entire network will not be affected.


4. Flexible structure. In a multi-hop network, devices can be connected to the network at the same time through different nodes, without causing a decrease in network performance. Mesh networks also provide greater redundancy and communication load balancing. In a wireless mesh network, each device has multiple transmission paths available. The network can dynamically allocate communication routes based on the communication load of each node, thereby effectively avoiding node communication congestion.
